Air Purifiers

Air Purifiers

We have entered the filter age. Filters for our water; filters for our air; filters for noise; filters for light; filters, filters everywhere. Here is a filter for our air. Actually it is two filters. This air purifier has a charcoal pre-filter and then a HEPA filter beyond that. You change the pre-filter every three months and the HEPA filter every year. If you buy one of these air purifiers, do yourself a favor and right the date you put it in use on the HEPA filter. The unit comes with a knob for reminding you when to change the filters but is a bit confusing.

I use two of these air purifiers at my office and they work great at filtering out dust, cat dander, pollen, odors, and smoke, to a limited degree. When the HEPA filter gets near the end of its lifespan make sure and replace it because the air purifier's effectiveness goes way down with a dirty filter. And the HEPA filter can cost more than the price of the original purifier. I know, kind of link ink jet printers and their refill cartridges. Oh well, it works out to about 14 cents a day. Not a bad deal for cleaner air.
